Airline Transport Pilot Licence

The aim of the integrated Airline Transport Pilot License ATPL(A) course is to train anybody to the level of proficiency necessary to enable them to operate as a pilot of aeroplanes involved in commercial air transport or airwork operations.

Timeline

Start

Beginning of the course with classes from 9 am to 12 pm and from 1 pm to 4 pm where you will have the opportunity to complete 5 subjects over approximately 16 weeks.

4ºMonth

The course 4th month is marked by the preparation and completion of the first 5 exams at the aeronautical authority, thus concluding the 1st theoretical phase and starting of the 2nd phase.

8ºMonth

Preparation and conclusion of 5 more theoretical exams. After the exams, the 3rd and final ground school phase begins together with the 1st phase of flights.

1º Flight

One of the most awaited phases by all students begins: Flying! The 1st practical phase includes approximately 14 hours of flight time on the Sonaca 201.

Solo flight

A remarkable day for a pilot's life: The first solo flight. This day also marks the beginning of the 2nd phase which includes 10H of solo flight and the introduction to instrument flight with 7H30 of flight time.

12ºMonth

Conclusion of ground school phase with the last 3 exams.

Night Flight

Initial Night Flight qualification.

VFR

Visual flight consolidation, consisting of 50 hours of solo cross country navigation. These flights foster students' leadership and decision-making skills while exploring a passion for visual flight.

IFR

Important phase to learn and develope the flight with reference to instruments, carried out on the Diamond DA40NG. 100 hours of flight

Bi-Motor

Introduction to twin engine flight and consolidation of instrument flight in a faster and more complex aircraft.

Practical Exams

Carrying out the important final exams to obtain the SEP and MEP/IR qualifications.

UPRT

Advanced Upset and Recovery training

MCC

40 hours in an A320 fix based simulator where the basic and fundamental skills for airline operation are developed.

18 - 24 Months

One of the biggest phases of a pilot career comes to an end. The end date varies according to meteorological conditions and student pilot performance/availability.
